“La Primera” Placer Project, Colombia, South America
Project La Primera is located northwest of the town of Titiribi, Department of Antioquia, Colombia.
The project consists of two contiguous mining concessions, numbers 5765 and 5835. The two concessions cover
an area of 62.3501 Ha and 53.0679 Ha, respectively. The project area runs from the mouth
of the Amaga River where it empties into the Cauca River and continues towards the river source.
The placer gold deposits for the project include both alluvial and colluvial types of deposits. Colors of gold
can be panned from samples collected from the river placer as well as accumulations below hillside lodes. The gold found in
the stream placer is composed of particles recently liberated from gold bearing rocks.
