El Zancudo Mining Company has spent a considerable sum of money on its mining library. However, most modern books,
written by the experts, seem to dwell solely on theory. Really, none of the modern books seem to offer a
practical hands-on approach to mineral dressing.
However, in our library, we have copies of many of the the early books written around the turn of the 20th century.
The early Metallurgical Engineers and Chemists were not only scientists, but were also practitioners who wrote useful books. These
books cover not only the theory, but also how to apply this theory with practical how-to methods.
When one reads these classic books, one comes to the conclusion that very little progress has been made in the last eighty
years regarding theory and practice. The only real advancement seems to be in the manufacture of better processing equipment. We
are a small mining company with a limited budget to hire many engineers and consultants. We have used these books
to double check our consultants and to solve many of our plant design and mineral dressing problems.
All of these books are out-of-copyright and therefore in the public domain. We offer digital copies of these books
in pdf format at a nominal cost ($10.00 per book). The sole reason for the charge is to help us cover the administrative
expenses of handling this service and to maintain this website.
Also, we have a large collection of Bulletins, Technical Papers, Investigation Reports, and Information Circulars from
the U.S. Bureau of Mines. The USBM provided information to the public on the minerals industry. The United States
Bureau of Mines of the Department of the Interior was established in 1910 by the Department of the Interior and abolished
on March 30, 1996. All materials were transferred to the National Technical Information Service which charges approximately
$33.00 for a print-on-demand copy of any publication. Since these books are in the public domain, we provide digital
copies from our library at a cost between $5.00 to $10.00.
The books or publications can be downloaded after payment has been received. Upon notification that
payment has been received, an email will be sent to you with download instructions.
