El Zancudo Mining Company is a privately held property investment and gold mining company whose focus is to acquire and develop gold mineralized properties in both South and Central America. The company is dedicated to exploration, development, and mining of  alluvial  and "in situ" gold and silver deposits in Colombia and Panama. The company maintains an on-site working presence in the Department of Bolivar, Colombia, outside the Municipality of Barranco de Loba.

El Zancudo Mining Company operates in Colombia through its subsidiary, Compania Minera El Zancudo S.A.  Both El Zancudo Mining Company and Compania Minera El Zancudo S. A. are  headquartered in Envigado, an incorporated municipality located in the southern part of the Medellin metroplex, Department of Antioquia.  Medellin is the historic and present-day metals mining capital of the country. 

In order to keep costs down and risks to a minimum, El Zancudo uses its subsidiary as its operating arm to engage in strategic alliances and joint ventures, while using third party contractors and mining consultants.  Our strategic alliances are with a close knit group of highly qualified Colombian professionals; technical, legal and administrative, which manage the day to day operations of the company. These alliances allow us to keep updated with the politics and legalities of such key entities as the Colombian "Ministry of Mines and Energy" , "MINERCOL", and "The Ministry of the Environment". 

The strategic and technical people presently behind El Zancudo are all experienced professionals in the minerals industry, and between them support a total of over 50 years of in-country experience in the Colombian resource sector.

Presently the company operates a pilot plant in the northeast sector of the Serrania San Lucas (Barranco de Loba).
